After getting an exclusive clip of Marvel's Agent Carter during New York Comic Con, audiences are anxiously anticipating the season premiere of the action/espionage drama. Viewers will immediately catch the "connection," even the similarities, to  Hatwell Atwell's Peggy Carter to Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson.

As we mentioned here, Peggy (Atwell) recently made her NYCC debut to a packed crowd. In the scene, we are introduced to Carter, Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), and Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy). After a quick round of quirky humor, we jump right into the action, watching Carter doing what she does best; kicking butt.

As we mentioned before, during the second season premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Peggy came up with the idea of the law enforcement agency after discovering a hidden treasure of alien artifacts. We know that she and Howard Stark (Cooper) are destined to become the founding fathers of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, explains that Atwell will "try to figure out the same things that Coulson is trying to figure out in present day -- but the world is a different place."

During the eight-episode run, Carter will be asking herself, "Should there be an organization like this?"  This is what will make Agent Carter relevant to today's audience, even though the period piece is set in the 1940s.

Loeb continues stating that  Peggy will "try to figure out the same things that Coulson is trying to figure out in present day - but the world is a different place."

Loeb teases that audiences will see the connections when they watch Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.EL.D. back-to-back, "When you watch them together, it all feels like it's of a piece. That's the key to what we're trying to do."

Marvel's Agent Carter will premiere during the mid-break of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Readers, are you excited to see the show in January?
