American Horror Story: Freak Show is only two episodes into its season, but there are plenty of spoilers creator Ryan Murphy is teasing about the upcoming episodes. He has even given die-hard AHS fans a hint into what the possible fifth season theme will focus around. Could it be outer space?
While in the past the show has centered around haunted houses, asylums, covens and now carnivals, it doesn't look like there are many other areas Murphy can tap into when it comes to a theme for next season. But Ryan explains that he already knows what he plans on doing for Season 5, and has even started developing characters for Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson, as we previously reported.
Like always, the creator has placed clues within the series to see if fans can tell what the setting will be, but he tells Entertainment Weekly that no one on the Internet has correctly guessed it yet.
"I've been looking and nobody has gotten it right," Ryan explains of Season 5's plot.
With the few hints we saw in the last couple of episodes, we were thinking the new season would be set in space with the robot in the toy store and Elsa's David Bowie cover, but it looks like our theory is way off base.
"We're not doing space, because space is not in America," Murphy explained. "It's American Horror Story not Intergalactic Horror Story. But I thought the clues about people thinking it was space were clever. I always love it when people come up with these theories, but it is 100 percent not space. It is land-bound and it takes place in the United States."
