Melissa Joan Hart is getting back to her witch roots on this week's episode of Melissa & Joey. One of the 38-year-old actress's most iconic roles was Sabrina in the 1996-2003 series Sabrina the Teenage Witch and now she is paying tribute to the witch-based TV series in her ABC Family show where she plays Melissa Burke.
"Once a witch, always a witch," the new ABC Family teaser video says. The new Halloween-themed Melissa & Joey episode, will even feature some of Melissa's former Sabrina costars. Beth Broderick, who played Sabrina's Aunt Zelda in the magical series, will be guest starring in the all-new episode.
Beth has previously starred on Melissa & Joey as Melissa's doctor Ellen Radley, which is the role she will play in this episode as well. Unfortunately, Aunt Hilda (played by Caroline Rhea) was not featured in the clip, but fingers crossed she eventually makes a guest appearance on the series.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch ran on ABC from 1996 to 2000 and then resurfaced from 2000 to 2003 on The WB. "I might consider [a reunion], but it's always tough to go back. It's so tough to go back and make it right, make it really good," Melissa told OMG! Insider in 2013 about a potential Sabrina reunion. "You have one shot to get it really right — everybody always looks older, things have changed."
On Wednesday night's new Halloween episode, the famous Salem the Cat will also be making a guest appearance. In the clip we see Melissa turn Salem into a person wearing a cat costume.
Season four of Melissa & Joey premieres on Wednesday, with the "Witch Came First" episode that surrounds Halloween. Melissa & Joey also stars Blossom alum Joey Lawrence as Joey Longo, Taylor Spreitler as Lennox Scanlon and Nick Robinson as Ryder Scanlon.
