Big Brother contestant Frankie Grande may be the brother of pop megastar Ariana Grande, but he is now trying to make a name for himself with his latest gig. Frankie, known for being one of the more controversial houseguests on the CBS show, has recently booked the role of Franz in the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages.
"I'm so unbelievably excited," he told People. "I have wanted to play Franz ever since I first saw the show. I think it is one of the best, funniest, most clever roles."
This isn't Frankie's first time in a Broadway show. In 2007, he was in the cast of the long-running ABBA musical Mamma Mia! And had even auditioned for the Rock of Ages role a few times before.
"I've actually had three final callbacks since the show originally opened. Every time I made it down to the final two people, they went with the other guy," the reality star said. "The first time I wasn't blonde. The second time I was too blonde. The third time I was too short. That is how Broadway works. They have a surplus of actors, so they can be that picky."
One of the major storylines of the Big Brother season was Frankie's showmance with Zach Rance. Frankie says no doubt that "Zach Attack" will be there opening night!
After Rock of Ages, Frankie already knows what part he wants to play next.
"The two roles I've always been obsessed with are Franz and Frankie Valli [in Jersey Boys]. They obviously wrote those roles for me," he said, referring to having the same names as the roles.
You can catch Frankie in Rock of Ages at the Helen Hayes Theatre in NYC from November 10 - January 18.
Will you be going to see Frankie in the show? How do you think he will do?
