Ariana Grande 'Problem' With Catholic Religion: Pop Diva Left Church Due To Homophobic Teachings!

Ariana Grande is a pop superstar, but one person close to her heart is her brother and former Big Brother contestant Frankie Grande. The "Break Free" singer even switched religions for him! In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Ariana talked about leaving the Catholic Church because of the way it treated her brother, who's gay. Instead, she now practices the Jewish sect of Kabbalah, which includes stars like Madonna, Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears. The pop diva didn't agree with the church's homophobic teachings.

"When my brother was told that God didn't love him I was like, 'OK, that's not cool.' They were building a Kabbalah center in Florida so we both checked it out and really had a connection with it," she said.

The "Problem" singer credits Kabbalah with changing her perspective on life and making herself more humble.

"My life has unfolded in a really beautiful way, and I think that it has a lot to do with the tools I've learned through Kabbalah, I really do," she told the paper. "You have to watch your intentions, make sure you're not giving in to your ego. You have to numb your reactive state. You have the power to change your reality."

This isn't just a phase for Big Sean's girlfriend — she has given herself completely to the religion.

"She wears the red string bracelet and everything. She is totally obsessed with Kabbalah now, her friend got her into it," according to Us Weekly. "She says she is Jewish. She studies all the books and everything."

Ariana's love of her brother was also evident when she stood up for him on Instagram after a barrage of homophobic comments against him while he was on the CBS reality show.

"That ''homo' is the fiercest, most incredible, funniest, most intelligent, kind hearted and most LOVED person on the face of the planet!," she posted. "He also cleaned up his game and told the truth to everybody in the house WHICH by the way, nobody else on the show has done ..."
