According to the developers over at Insomniac Games, the higher resolution of 1080p didn't work for the upcoming mutant infestation shooter Sunset Overdrive. Deciding to go instead with 900p, we learn that this new video game packs more mayhem this way, which is great news just about a week ahead of its Oct. 28, 2014, release date. Check out the brand new gameplay launch trailer below!

"Why would you want less action on screen? That's insanity," Sunset Overdrive creative director Marcus Smith

told IGN earlier this week. "900p works perfect for us. We spent a lot of time comparing and contrasting. We had it running at 1080p, we'd play it; we had it running at 900p, we'd play it and they didn't look considerably different. But the things that you could draw on screen were a lot more, and we wanted to draw a lot more on screen. More action, more better. Michael Bay would be very proud."

Smith also revealed that co-op capabilities would not be available at the launch of the game but could come around with updates and add-ons in the future. "Never say never," he said, clearly hinting that multiplayer options could definitely be a possibility.

This Xbox One exclusive title sure has a lot of hype to live up to, but thanks to plenty of gameplay footage, we have a good feeling about the game. Check out the newest gameplay footage featured in the title's official launch trailer right here:
