Season 4 of Scandal rolls on, and an oft-mentioned but never-before-seen character will soon make his first appearance on the show when Michael Trucco joins the show as Abby's ex-husband.
TVLine reports Trucco will appear in one November episode as Darby Stanchfield's character's ex. The character, Charles Putney, is the youngest son of former Virginia Governor James Putney. He had an arranged marriage to Abby for four years but he drunkenly assaulted her, at which point Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) got involved by whacking him in the knees with a tire iron.
Speaking of Abby, the former Gladiator is still working as the White House Press Secretary and is harboring a major grudge toward her former boss. But will the plucky redhead rejoin her old team?
The "Spoiler Room" column at EW.com has the answer.
"Abby will be sticking around the White House for the foreseeable future. However, her icy relationship with Olivia will thaw a bit when an event actually drives the two back together on an emotional level we've rarely seen. I wonder if Jake's arrest has anything to do with it. Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge."
And in case you missed it, EW.com reports Paul Adelstein, who previously appeared on another Shonda Rhimes series, Private Practice, will return as Leo Bergen in an upcoming episode, according to EW.com. Adelstein first appeared as Leo in Season 3 as a ruthless campaign consultant to Vice President Sally Langston (Kate Burton), who was running for President. He last appeared in the Season 3 finale, when he learned he would not become Chief of Staff after Sally lost the election.
Adelstein will appear in at least one episode in November. He next stars on Bravo's Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce.
