The 27-year-old tennis pro Novak Djokovic and wife Jelena Ristic announced the birth of their son via Twitter and Novak's official website Wednesday morning, Oct. 22.
"Stefan, our baby angel was born! I am so proud of my beautiful wife Jelena!" he wrote on his Twitter page. "Thank you so much for your love and support. We love you all!!!"
Novak is a Serbian professional tennis player currently ranked No.1 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals. To many, he's considered one of the greatest players of all time.
"We are delighted to announce that Jelena Djokovic gave birth to a wonderful, healthy and a lovely boy, called Stefan. The birth went in the best possible manner, baby and the mother feel well. Novak will spend the following several days with the baby and his wife Jelena, after which he travels to Paris, where he will compete at the ATP Masters tournament," his representatives wrote on his official website.
The couple began dating in 2005 and married in 2014 on the grounds of Montenegro's Aman Sveti Stefan resort. It was in April 2014 that Novak announced that he and Ristic were expecting their first child.
Novak's crazy about his high school love and told Hello! magazine, that "Seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress, smiling and walking towards me ... She looked like an angel. I was trying to be present in that moment and memorize it. I was focused on her, and her smile, and our baby. It was really a perfect moment."
