An unexpected major revelation just took place in the final season 7 of Sons of Anarchy on FX. In the aftermath of Greensleeves, is Gemma Teller (Katey Sagal) going to have to keep an eye out on Abel, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam)'s son?

In our recent recap, Gemma (Sagal) is going out of her mind when Happy (David Labrava) tells her she has to go to the cabin with him. These orders come after she immediately hears about Juice (Theo Rossi) being handed over to Jax and getting arrested. The entire time, Gemma is thinking that Juice revealed her terrible secret.

Thinking she is going to die at the cabin, Gemma grabs her youngest grandson and holds him tightly. Babbling to herself, Gemma reveals she killed the boy's mother,Tara, out loud. Because she was distraught and overwhelmed with grief, Gemma didn't realize Abel was listening in on her confession.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly,  director Paris Barclay describes how the scene came about and what it means for the upcoming episodes. Audiences have always expected a confrontation between Jax and Gemma over Tara's murder. But what does it mean now that Abel is involved?

Barclay explains, "I knew at the beginning of the season that Abel was going to be the first person in the family to find out. That's part of the Abel story that's been developing, and I have been giving little hints on the Twitter and other places to 'keep an eye out for Abel.' I think Abel finding out becomes part of the twist that sends us into our final spiral..."

In a previous recap, we saw Abel knocking down a wall with a hammer, thinking his brother was in danger. Will the little boy, who seems so detached since his mother's death, go further to seek revenge?

Sons of Anarchy continues on FX Tuesdays at 10pm. Readers, do you think Abel is Gemma's biggest threat?
