The seventh season of the popular AMC drama from Matthew Weiner has been split into two parts. This is the beginning of the end as Jon Hamm, Elizabeth Moss, and Christina Hendricks are about to say farewell in Mad Men: The Final Season (Part 1), which hits DVD/Blu-Ray everywhere.

As we reported here, this is the first half of Mad Men's final season, where Don Draper (Hamm) is trying to get his job back. As Don faces struggle and opposition from Peggy (Moss) and Joan (Hendricks), he wonders if the hard work is really what he actually wants. Here are five reasons you should get Mad Men: The Final Season (Part 1) on DVD/Blu-Ray.

5) Time Zones

The best opening you could ask for. The cold opening starts with a pitch by Freddy, who is doing his best Don Draper impression. You're hooked with what Freddy's selling and you don't even know he's reading off of Don's writing.

4) Jessica Paré

That Megan Draper will do anything to please her cheating husband, Don. She'll even bring another woman with her to excite Don in the bedroom in The Runaways.Too bad their marriage collapsed in Waterloo.

3) Kiernan Shipka

Sally Draper is the only woman who can break into Don's cold heart. In the episode, A Day's Work, Don admits he was fired from the agency, but he doesn't want her to worry about money. The episode ends with a heart-wrenching goodbye from daughter to father.

2) The Rise of Roger Sterling

Delivering an Emmy worthy performance, John Slattery depicts the best and worst of Roger, who starts out the season depressed and strung out. Towards the game-changing Waterloo episode, Roger is able to save Don and keep his advertising agency booming.

1) Robert Morse

The saddest event in Mad Men is also the one with happiest ending. In Waterloo, Bertram Cooper passes away after the first moon landing. The episode ends with a special dance number from Morse, who was the star original Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Mad Men: The Final Season (Part 10 is out in stores now on DVD and Blu-Ray. Readers, are you excited to get your hands on the first half of the Mad Men season?
