Pop singer Justin Bieber is currently in the works to star in a film alongside "The Fighter" actor Mark Wahlberg. In a recent interview with E! News, Wahlberg reports that the first draft of the basketball-themed script is officially done and that he expects great things from the young "Believe" superstar.
Wahlberg discussed the upcoming film and his vision with E! News, stating, "We just want to make it great and we're getting there. I think of Paul Newman and Tom Cruise in 'The Color of Money' but in the world of inner-city basketball. I just think personally we have a great idea."
Wahlberg continues with, "[Justin]'s a great athlete... He's focused and he wants to have success in the movie world and acting as well. He's focused and patient about finding the right particular part, working with the right people, and I think he'd do a great job."
Bieber, 18, has appeared in a few episodes of the hit television series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and admits that he would love to gain more experience in the acting world.
When asked if there's a chance that the new film may be released as early as next year, Wahlberg responded with, "Possibly, if I have anything to do with it."
