Katie Holmes Talks Cheap Beauty Tips- See How Former 'Dawson's Creek' Star Gets Ready On A Budget

Ever had to get ready on a budget? Katie Holmes surely has. The former Dawson's Creek actress revealed some of her beauty tips for how she gets dolled up when she's crunched for time and doesn't have many products on hand.

The Giver star sat down to talk to E! News about her beauty routine. Suri's mom looked fresh faced and comfortable in the clip the news site posted, as she wears her hair down and an oversized gray sweatshirt.

"If I don't have any mascara then I lick my fingers and go like that, which is kind of gross," the mom admits in the clip, as she pretends to use her fingers as a mascara applier. "If I have really bad hair and I have no products, then I use baby oil- a little bit. And if I have no lipstick and I do have a raspberry, then I put some of that on."

The 35-year-old promoted her new partnership with Alterna Hair Care when the entertainment site caught up with her at a photo shoot for the brand. She also revealed some of her hair care tips when she doesn't have any products available.

"I use the new Milk [product] that Alterna made," Katie reveals. "You put that in after a shower- it has vitamin D in it so it's good for your hair- and it really also creates shine. If you blow dry after that it looks like a good blow-out. Like, 'Ooo, a home blow-out!'"
