We're not ready to count Hull City out of the Barclays Premier League, especially this weekend when the team takes on a questionable Liverpool squad. Just last week, the Reds had a nail-biter of a match against QPR, the lowest team on the EPL standings, so who's to say that Hull can't come up with an upset today? Liverpool manager Brenden Rodgers has a tough season this year, with star players either gone or injured and a replacement not living up to potential.
"It needs to be better as a team, not just the defense and goalkeeper," he told the press earlier this week. "We pride ourselves on clean sheets but we need to be more competitive and aggressive in those moments as a team. In the goals we've conceded, a large number have been soft so our job is to improve that record and that's something we'll continue to work on."
Will Hull City score any goals against this ailing defense? According to Hull coach Steve Bruce, it might not be too easy considering his injury list.
"Tom Huddlestone and Andy Robertson a concern," he explained. "It's typical. We've been riding along nicely and all of a sudden we've got four or five. It's inevitable. We simply have to cope with it and hope the squad's big enough and strong enough."
