The Starbucks holiday drinks are in full effect. With the pumpkin spice crave that has been sweeping the nation for the last couple years, the coffee giant has decided to introduce a new signature drink that will only be available during the winter. The Chestnut Praline Latte is the first holiday beverage that has been introduced by the chain in the last five years, according to a statement released by the company earlier today.
The new drink will be joining the other holiday beverages of Peppermint Mocha and Gingerbread Latte when retailers begin selling the holiday drinks Nov. 12.
According to Today, the Chestnut Praline Latte will be made with "carmalized chestnut flavor and other pieces along with praline bits and whipped cream." The product was tested in select cities last year, but will be available nationwide next month.
It seems like a no-brainer to continue the flavored seasonal drink trend, as Market Watch is reporting that the Pumpkin Spiced Latte has sold more than 200 million cups since it was first introduced in 2003.
With the huge number of pumpkin-flavored drinks selling out, you'd think Starbucks would introduce it year-round, but as blogger Jocelyn Ruggiero puts it, it's the waiting that makes these flavorful treats even better.
"No matter how much we might yearn for these [drinks] throughout the year, we must wait until the appointed day to enjoy," she said.
