WWE will air its Hell in a Cell pay-per-view from the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday night, and the spectacle will feature a double main event with Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins and John Cena vs. Randy Orton inside the Hell in a Cell.
So without further ado, let's take a look at the match card and offer our predictions for the annual October event.
Goldust and Stardust (c) vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championship
It feels like we've seen this match 50 times since SummerSlam in one form or another, but these two teams consistently put on entertaining matches with plenty of high-flying action. This contest should be similar to the others, but the competitors will likely find a way to add some new spots to keep the match from feeling stale. Still, the Usos held the title for a while, and the Dust Brothers seem poised to do the same.
Winner: Goldust and Stardust
Sheamus (c) vs. The Miz for the United States Championship
If ever there were a time to take the U,S, belt off the Celtic Warrior, then this is it. The Miz is more popular now than he's been in ages thanks to some terrific heel work on his part and, more importantly, the absolutely brilliant work of Damien Mizdow as his stunt double who mirrors everything Miz says and does. I could envision a scenario in this match in which Mizdow actually winds up winning the belt, but that might be too good to be true.
Winner: Miz
Big Show vs. Rusev
Rusev continues to be an unstoppable force with Lana by his side, and Big Show is the latest American to try to take down the pro-Russian beast. Last week on Raw, Rusev superkicked a soldier, which sent Big Show into a rage. I think WWE I still trying to build Rusev into even more of a monster, and a Big Show victory does nothing for either party.
Winner: Rusev
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Cesaro in a 2-Out-of-3 Falls Match for the Intercontinental Championship
The Internet might explode during this match, which pits two of the fans' favorite competitors against each other in a best-of-3 match. This match will undoubtedly be exciting, as each man consistently delivers great work in the ring that leaves fans dazzled. One man has to walk out with the title, and it seems like Cesaro just can't win when it counts recently.
Winner: Ziggler
Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella
The loser of this match has to become the other's personal assistant for 30 days and will be fired if she fails to do so. I'm glad we're finally getting an actual one-on-one match between these two, as they never really had a true payoff to Nikki's betrayal at SummerSlam. But the outcome here seems obvious: Brie loses and is forced to do Nikki's bidding for a month as she forces her sister into all kinds of embarrassing situations. I also expect a solid match between these two because their ring work has improved tremendously.
Winner: Nikki Bella
AJ Lee (c) vs. Paige for the Divas Championship
It's hard to pick a winner in this one because they've traded the belt a handful of times since WrestleMania. Honestly, either woman is deserving of the win, so the hope here is simply for another great match that showcases both of the abilities. But we're picking winners here, so...
Winner: AJ Lee
John Cena vs. Randy Orton
It would be easy to joke about how this is the 823rd meeting between these two men, but it truly doesn't matter how many times they face off because they always put on great matches. Their last one-on-one contest at the Royal Rumble was actually fantastic, but the crowd ate it alive because they were sick of seeing the two men fight.
Either way, this one should be another great one, and it's inside the cell to boot. The addition of the No.1 Contender stipulation was a smart way to keep fans invested in the outcome, as some are already clamoring for a match between Orton and Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
And they just might get it. Our guess is Orton picks up the win after some shenanigans or interference (perhaps a returning Bray Wyatt or one of his new disciples) costs Cena the match. This would give the 15-time champion something else to do while Orton continues his quasi-face turn and fights Lesnar.
Winner: Randy Orton
Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins
No matter which match goes on last, this one is the true main event. We've followed Ambrose for months as he has tried to get revenge on Seth Rollins for stabbing him in the back and breaking up The Shield. This match is perfectly suited for Ambrose's lunatic tendencies, and Seth will have nowhere to run.
All of which could mean that Rollins pulls out the victory, perhaps through some nefarious means. But that should only happen if WWE plans to extend the feud. Ambrose needs to get his revenge with a decisive victory to end the feud, and Rollins still has the Money in the Bank briefcase to occupy him once his business with Ambrose concludes. Ambrose needs something new to do after this feud, and it wouldn't make much sense for Rollins, the heel, to win the match and end the feud on top.
Winner: Dean Ambrose
