After receiving a lot of threatening messages, including death threats, Chrissy Teigen has decided to part ways with Twitter. The Sports Illustrated model and wife of John Legend started what was an unintentional Twitter feud with many of her followers after posting a message about the Canadian soldier who was shoot and killed while guarding Canada's War Memorial last week in Ottawa.
According to CNN, the model took to her Twitter, posting a few messages regarding the shooting, "Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in America, Wednesday," the star wrote. "That's not a joke. It is a fact. Sorry you don't understand that is a knock at America and our issues with gun control. No one is minimizing the Ottawa shooting."
It seems the star got a lot of flak about what she posted, one angry user even posted, "I hope someone murders some[one] you love, like your f----t husband." Chrissy retweeted the hurtful message and added, "Amazing this isn't punishable."
After receiving multiple posts like this, the model decided that it was time to part ways with the social media site.
"I can't see anything through the sea of hate and anger that is now my Twitter. Seriously I can't sift through it all," the supermodel posted. "It's gotten to the point people don't even see the simplicity of the original tweet and have just wanted to get shaking-mad over something."
While we are sure her 543,000 followers will miss her on the site, she said they can still follow her on Instagram.
"I feel sick," she continued. "Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to Instagram."
