The video game fundraiser charity Extra Life has raised about $5.4 million for a children's hospital in the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Many gamers that showcase their talents on the gaming streaming website Twitch took part in 24-hour streams to help reach goals and raise money for a hospital of their choice. It turns out that this year's fundraising has already been quite a success.

According to the official website of the charity, some of the top fundraisers include popular gamers like Lirik, Ryan Haywood, Barbara Dunkelman, and more.

"Just a quick post to update everyone," the Facebook post stated. "We are now at about 5.4 million raised and donations continue to pour in! Thank you for doing so much for the kids! Remember donations can be submitted all the way until Dec 31st, but please don't wait if you're holding offline donations. Get them in and counted sooooon!" [sic]

As you can see, the fundraising event reached a huge goal, but the time to donate hasn't even come to an end yet. So make sure to head over to Extra Life's official website to make more donations!

You can even join a team, as IGN points out, to help raise money with a group of donors.

We're happy to see such a great charity seeing great results for this year's fundraising events. Hopefully this impressive number keeps going up! What do you think of this news? Let us know in the comments section below and donate if you can!
