Criminal Minds is in its 10th season and it still has a lot of scary things to offer when it comes to the Halloween episode. Thomas Gibson, who plays Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner, is revealing what's in store for this season's scary episode.

So what's going to happen in the all-new episode? Child abduction as usual! "We've got a guy abducting kids annually on Halloween for some strange reason, and after we find the kid that he's released on the 30th we fly to San Diego on the 31st to keep him from grabbing another one. We kick into high gear and do everything we can to find this child – who happens to be best friends with a kid played by my son Travis," Thomas told TV Line.

Thomas's son Travis, who is 12-years-old, isn't the only Gibson family member making a cameo in the Halloween episode. His daughter Agatha, 10, will play a trick-or-treater and his son J.P., 15, helped prep the shoot and shadowed his father on set.

"Travis said to me after two days, 'Dad, can I go to school online and become an actor?' I said, 'It's not all riding bikes and egging houses!' That was as much fun as he has had and gotten paid for. ... Unfortunately, because the show is not for kids, they've seen very little of it," the 52-year-old actor told TV Guide about the family-focused episode.

In addition to having his family star in the episode, Thomas was the director on the spooky episode. "It was a little bit more challenging. For the most part, I prepared pretty well. You always learn from each one. Next time, if you're shooting over my shoulder, I could let my stand-in be the double and I can watch. For the most part, it was everything I wanted it to be," he told the publication about the balance between acting and directing this time around.

The Dharma & Greg actor also revealed his childhood fears, growing up during the time of Michael Myers thriller Halloween. "I think actually avoided it for a while because I knew how badly I would take it, because I was pretty easily scared as a kid." Thomas admitted to TV Line.

"I remember driving home from a movie – it wasn't Halloween but another one, maybe the original Omen – and I dropped my friends off, and it was also broad daylight, and yet I was sure that, like, Damien was in the backseat or something like that."

Criminal Minds airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
