Jake Gyllenhaal Ellen DeGeneres Prank: 'NIghtcrawler' Actor Scared By Ellen In Hilarious Clip [WATCH]

Ellen DeGeneres is the queen when it comes to scaring her guests. She loves to play pranks when celebrities come to her show to talk about their new projects, but it seemed like she almost gave Jake Gyllenhaal a heart attack when she scared him during his appearance on her show.

According to E! News, the actor was on the talk show to promote his new film Nightcrawler. The flick, set to be released on Halloween, has a creepy storyline, but the actor only thought that he would talk about getting spooked on set, not actually be scared during it.

"I just want you to do comedy at some point, because, Jarhead, Prisoners, which was fantastic — every movie you're in is just so intense," Ellen explains to him.

While Gyllenhaal is explaining what draws him to such dark characters, Ellen uses that as a perfect opportunity to have the spooky clown pop out of what seemed to be a coffee table, set in between Jake and Ellen.

The clown interrupts Jake midsentence and he gets so spooked that he actually dropped the F-bomb on the show.

"Oh, my God, what the F--k!" the actor screams after the clown pops up.

Ellen can't help but get a laugh at Jake's expense. The actor gets up looking for the clown and jokingly telling Ellen to bring him back out onto the stage.
