It's finally that time of year - hockey season!
The Detroit Red Wings battle it out on the ice against the Washington Capitals in Week 3 of the regular season on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:30 p.m. EST at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. Following the first few opening weeks of the 2014 regular season, the Red Wings snag the No. 13 spot in Scott Burnside's official NHL power rankings for ESPN.com with a 4-2-2 winning record:
"The Red Wings continue to find ways to collect points."
Meanwhile, the Capitals currently hold the No. 15 spot (out of 30 total teams), also with a 4-2-2 record. According to Burnside:
"Pretty sure coach Barry Trotz would like to see a little more consistency from his squad."
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels NBCS and TVA, but fans can also listen in on the radio at 97.1 The Ticket, CJBK, WTOP, and WFED.
