For quite some time, we've heard that Terminator Genisys isn't considered a reboot, a remake or a sequel to the sci-fi movie series, but we haven't had a good explanation of what this means. Well, in some recent details about the plot twist surrounding Emilia Clarke's Sarah Connor character and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator role, we could have some helpful information for this label.
According to Slash Film, the recent Genisys cover story issue of Entertainment Weekly reveals some plot points that help explain the classifications we've been hearing over the last few months.
"This is an alternate story, an alternate timeline," script writer Laeta Kalogridis said. According to the writer and the cast, Schwarzenegger plays an aged Terminator that raised a young Sarah Connor as a father figure. Read more here!
