The Cleveland Cavaliers had a horrific start to the season, in which their star-studded team dropped a surprising game to the NY Knicks. However, in their second game of the season, they faced tougher opponents in the Chicago Bulls. Many wondered, would they fall to an 0-2 start, or would they put a good performance together? LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and David Blatt ensured that they did just that, beating the Bulls, and proving their Cavaliers are indeed NBA championship contenders.
LeBron explained, "It was an opportunity to go out and redeem ourselves," and they did just that. Blatt was just as pleased, saying, "Tonight, we played good basketball. Tonight was just about playing well and consistently throughout. We did that. We beat a very good team tonight. We did not have an easy way coming off the game last night."
In two games, both James and Blatt have proven they can take the good with the bad, and that's sure to help them through this season. Love has been a revelation for his new team, too, and he will only improve as he learns and grows in to his new role. It appears his old team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, are still bitter, with their vice president of communications Brad Ruiter saying, "We won't name any names, but some other people maybe haven't done that in the past. We're really excited that he (Wiggins) wants to be not only a member of the organization but part of the community as well."
However, Minnesota is long gone for Love, and now he, and his Cavaliers team know that they're not a huge flop, and they can indeed be a championship contender, proven by beating a fellow contender.
