Looks like former Tonight Show host Jay Leno is heading home... sort of. It's currently being reported that the famed comedian, who was replaced by Jimmy Fallon back in February, is heading back to the NBC series this coming Friday, Nov. 7 to appear as a guest.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Leno's upcoming appearance will be the first time he is heading back to the legendary NBC stage since handing it off to the former Saturday Night Live player. Of course, he did appear in Fallon's fan-favored House of Cue Cards.
Leno's Tonight Show appearance will come in order to promote his upcoming CNBC show Jay Leno's Garage, which he was recently confirmed to host.
Also appearing on Friday's episode of Fallon's Tonight Show will be Lucy Liu and Kevin Delaney.
On having Leno as a guest, Fallon admits that it's something he's wanted for quite a while, according to THR. "I told Jay, I gave him a round-trip ticket to New York." He added, "The stage is his, so whenever he wants it, he's got a stage."
The iconic comedian was recently honored by the comedy community, winning the ever so beloved Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. During the ceremony, he was not only honored but also roasted by the likes of Fallon, Jerry Seinfeld and Chelsea Handler. The ceremony will be aired on PBS this coming Nov. 23.
Tune into to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon weeknights at 11:35 p.m on NBC.
