The Season 3 premiere of Arrow featured the first real date between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), but the date turned explosive thanks to a rocket launcher. Oliver realized he could not be both Oliver Queen and the Arrow, so he chose the latter at the expense of a romance with Felicity.
The decision was heartbreaking for Olicity fans, but there's apparently more bad news on the horizon thanks to Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh). The following comes from the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online.
"Olicity fans might not be too happy to hear about the scoop we just received. In an upcoming episode of Arrow, Ray Palmer tries to take his working relationship with Felicity to the next level, and asks her out on a date! But no matter how 'super' hot or adorable Ray is we'll always be Team Olicity, so you better check yourself, Ray."
Things are also apparently going to get a bit awkward between Oliver and Felicity thanks to Ray for a different reason. The following comes from the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine.
"Felicity will announce her new gig working for Ray at the start of Wednesday's episode, triggering this passive-aggressive reaction from Ollie: 'He pauses for a second then keeps going and changes the subject,' Stephen Amell previews. But it sure seems like things are a little tense in this sneak peek, eh? '[We're] certainly going to learn how Oliver feels about it,' Amell confirms. 'It comes to a head towards the latter part of our fall run.'
Meanwhile, if you were wondering, like us, whether there would be any residual awkwardness between Felicity and Oliver, given what transpired in the season premiere, Amell notes, 'I've always strived [to make] sure [Arrow] relationships are adult relationships. You can kiss someone and you can profess something to them, but that doesn't mean you avoid eye contact with them. There is a bigger goal and a much bigger circumstance at play. So, [while] I'm sure things are awkward, they've got work to do.'"
