When you are cold, out of luck and think it couldn't get any worse, you might just tell yourself, "It'll get better," and superstar singer Ed Sheeran had years of telling himself that, and life couldn't be any better for the pop star now.
He was a homeless hopeful not so long ago, and now he's perhaps the biggest singer-songwriter the world has to offer, and on top of that, he's gone from sleeping in the London Underground to performing his hit single with Manchester United's Premier League legend Wayne Rooney in a pub. Does it get any better than that?
Sheeran recently admitted he had no place to live, saying to the Daily Mail, "There was an arch outside Buckingham Palace that has a heating duct and I spent a couple of nights there ... I didn't have anywhere to live for much of 2008 and the whole of 2009 and 2010, but somehow I made it work. I knew where I could get a bed at a certain time of night and I knew who I could call at any time to get a floor to sleep on. Being sociable helped. Drinking helped. I spent a week catching up on sleep on Circle Line trains."
Ed continued: "I'd go out and play a gig, wait until 5 a.m. when the Underground opened, sleep on the Circle Line until 12, go to a session — and then repeat. It wasn't that bad."
But now, he's the biggest star Britain has produced in years, and even their best footballer was delighted to perform with him, tweeting, "Brilliant time at @edsheeran concert last night. Thanks for a great night mate."
Will Ed continue to dominate the music world, and could there be a better British crossover than this pairing? Comment below!
