While the CW's The Flash is on a short break, this is the perfect opportunity to take a look at the first four episodes of the DC Comics superhero series. Let's check out how Grant Gustin (Barry Allen), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), and Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow) were able to bring their characters from the comic book page to the TV screen.

In our previous recap, we witnessed the origin story of how Barry (Gustin) ended up with his super-speed powers. Due to a particle accelerator explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs, lightning struck Barry and threw him into a vat of chemicals. Not only did Barry end up with powers, half of the civilian population of Central City became metahumans.

Here are our 5 thoughts on theThe Flash first batch of episodes:

5) When's Weather Wizard Coming Back?

The pilot did a phenomenal job on explaining the super villains and their powers. The first villain the scarlet speedster faced is the Weather Wizard, who got shot in the back by Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). For such an important baddie in the comics, I'd hate for this character to just go away and disappear.

4) Dr. Harrison Wells

A major plot twist was revealed about Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) the pilot. Cough Cough "time-traveling." But nothing was as shocking when Harrison cold-heartedly stabbed Simon Stagg (William Sadler) in the stomach at the end of Fastest Man Alive.

3) John Wesley Shipp

Shipp played the Flash in the original CBS superhero drama. The Dawson's Creek actor paved the way for Gustin and Stephen Amell (Arrow) on how to bring a larger-than-life character to television and keep him grounded in reality. Amanda Pays will also back as Dr. Tina McGee, but this time, she's the big bad. I hope they have a reunion of sorts.

2) More Flashbacks

We definitely got to see what life was like with Caitlin (Panabaker) and her fiancee, Ronnie (Robbie Amell). In the episode, Things You Can't Outrun, we saw what was happening to the other S.T.A.R. labs members the same night Barry was struck by lightning.

1) Michael Scofield Is Captain Cold!

If you were a fan of Prison Break back in 2005, it was so awesome to see the Stoker screenwriter back on TV. This is by far the best episode of the batch, besides the pilot. Not only is Miller back, Dominic Purcell is also joining the show as Heat Wave.

The Flash airs on the CW Tuesdays at 8pm. Readers, what do you think of the show so far?
