TBS Series 'Cougar Town' Announces Final Series Premiere Date With Music Video

Cheers! Cougar Town's final season has officially received a premiere date. The TBS series announced its premiere date in an original way... with a music video!

According to the network, the sixth and final season will begin on Jan. 6. In order to remember the date, the cast created a musical piece to help you remember. In the video via Entertainment Weekly, the cast announces their final season by starting in a bar... in case you thought any other location would be appropriate.

Christopher Walken Cat makes a cameo as the guys sing a song as a fun announcement. It goes from black-and-white to full color as the whole cast toast with wine. The girls even join in on the fun to make sure you know that Jan. 6 is a date you can't miss while Josh Hopkins strums the guitar. The whole video is a dedication to the fans for sticking with them for six seasons and two network changes.

Cougar Town is about Jules Cobb (played by Courteney Cox), as she gets back into the dating game, after divorcing Bobby Cobb (played by Brian Van Holt). Jules lives in Cougar Town, a leisurely area in Florida with her teenage son Travis played by Dan Byrd. The show is rounded out with Jules friends and neighbors. The series also stars Christa Miller as Ellie Torres, Busy Phillips as Laurie Keller, Josh Hopkins as Grayson Ellis, Ian Gomez as Andy Torres and Bob Clendenin as Tom.

The original cancellation and renewal announcement was reported in May when TBS announced that there would be one more season of the comedy, but it would also be its last. "The most recent, fifth season averaged more than 2 million viewers and ranked as one of cable's top comedies among adults 18-49 (1.3 million)," Entertainment Weekly reported in May.

Even though there will be sixth season, not everyone will be back the whole time. The character of Bobby will not be around for the whole season. He will make an appearance in the beginning of the final season, but according to TV Line he will be leaving early to pursue other career opportunities. As of now, the rest of the crazy cast will be back in full force when Cougar Town returns.

The final season will consist of 13 episodes, so get your giant wine glass ready, because after the New Year, Cougar Town will begin its final journey with its sixth hilarious season.
