NCIS fans get ready because you are all about to meet Jethro Gibbs' second ex-wife. The role of Rebecca, who has never before been seen on the series, is about to get herself a nice little storyline. Actress Jeri Ryan has been cast in the role on the CBS drama and viewers can expect to see her make her debut in an upcoming January 2015 episode.

According to TVLIne, NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg has been holding onto this news for a while, first alluding, last January, to the fact that viewers would definitely be getting to know the former Mrs. Gibbs.

"I can promise you that it is probably going to get touched on in Season 12," he told the news site back in January 2014.

Gibbs has definitely had a string of wives already on the show as he was married to Shannon (Darby Stanchfield) who passed away. He was also married to Diane, played by Melinda McGraw, and then he married Stephanie, with Rebecca fitting in the middle.

"After 12 season there was still one ex-wife to cast opposite Gibbs and we found her in the beautiful and talented Jeri Ryan," Glasberg explained. "We're all very excited to have Jeri join us for a storyline that's chock full of surprises."

According to Cartermatt.com, the site is also confirming the news and speculating on whether or not the Star Trek: Voyager alum will be dying her hair red to match the description of the character, which is about the only thing that we know about her.

NCIS is currently airing it's 12th season on Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
