When the Cincinnati Bengals signed Andy Dalton to a long-term contract, they had no idea that things would change so rapidly. Last night, yet again, their starting QB choked on live television, this time worse than ever before in their record-setting loss, which was largely down to his inability to throw the football. They even brought in veteran Jason Campbell, and some fans have been calling for the recently married A.J. McCarron to get his chance, but they give him a shot, or will the former Alabama NCAA star be forever bemoaning his lack of a chance to his wife Katherine Webb?
Andy posted a 30.3 completion percentage, which was the worst completion percentage in their history with a minimum of 25 pass attempts. That's right, the highly-paid, inconsistent QB failed far below any other QB they've hand their hands on. Perhaps a chance of scenery would do wonders for him, and evidently, some NFL team would be willing to part with draft picks and players to take a chance on the one-time highly sought after QB.
In Campbell, the Bengals have a man that "will do" for now, and in McCarron, they have a man that could and should be good enough, but then again, could a rookie of been any worse than last night's Dalton performance was? At times you could hear Dalton screaming on the sideline, insisting "they're still in this game", but truthfully, they never were and they were outplayed throughout. Had Dalton of been able to throw the ball efficiently, this might of been a totally different ball game.
