Nicki Minaj American Idol Judge: Singer to Join Mariah Carey at Judge's Table

According to US Weekly, although news of Nicki Minaj joining the cast of "American Idol" as its newest judge has yet to be made official, sources confirm that the "Pound the Alarm" singer is "definitely doing it."

Two sources have confirmed to US Weekly that Minaj will definitely be joining Mariah Carey at the judge's table this fall on "American Idol:"

"I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it," one insider claims. "A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening."

Although neither Minaj nor FOX have yet to comment on the judging rumors, another source confirms that the "Starships" singer is "100% confirmed to judge 'American Idol.'"

It was revealed that Mariah Carey would take the spot of former judge Jennifer Lopez on the upcoming season of "Idol." Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler have also forfeited their seats at the judge's table. Rumors have it that Nick Jonas, Pharrell Williams, and even Sean "Diddy" Combs are being considered to join the cast.

"American Idol" season 12 is set to premiere on FOX January 2013.
