The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice have been in money troubles for years, but now it looks like she was paid even less than originally thought for her post-sentence interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
According to Radar Online, the reality couple was paid $50,000 and not the $325,000 originally thought to have been paid to the RHONJ stars. The site even posted a copy of the check here.
The check was from a production company, Manhouse Productions, LLC, made out to Duane Morris, LLP, the lawyers who represented the pair.
As MStars News reported, the former Celebrity Apprentice contestant needed the money to help pay the over $400,000 in restitution the judge imposed on her and her husband at sentencing.
Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges or mortgage and bankruptcy fraud, while Joe was given 59 months behind bars for two separate crimes.
The reality star will serve her time at Danbury Correctional Facility in Connecticut. This is the same prison that inspired the Netflix hit comedy series Orange is the New Black.
In the shocking Bravo interview, Teresa and Joe talked about Joe's drinking problem and how it has affected their marriage. His lawyer had even asked for the father of four girls to be put into an alcohol treatment center as part of his sentence.
"Before [Teresa] started this Real Housewives stuff, I think I only used to drink on the weekends. Now I drink every day," he told Andy Cohen. "Just wine. I mean, I don't drink anything else really. I might have a little problem. Yeah, I'm not going to lie."
"I could easily do two, three bottles-four bottles easily, you know, with another person. Sometimes two by myself," he continued. "One bottle is like sucking a bottle of milk. It's like nothing."
Just spent a few hours interviewing Teresa & Joe Guidice. See it Monday night on Bravo.
