A new Avengers: Age of Ultron extended trailer has been released today, Nov. 12, and features exclusive new footage into the new Marvel comics movie.
The extended release trailer gives a more in-depth look into Ultron (James Spader). The trailer is basically the third trailer fans have seen within the past three weeks, a possible ploy to slowly lure moviegoers in. The film doesn't hit theaters until May 1, 2015.
This 155-second trailer serves its purpose by giving the villain Ultron more view time for fans. Avengers: Age of Ultron, directed by Joss Whedon, stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, James Spader, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Paul Bettany. The cast alone will bring in high box-office numbers.
In the past, studios liked to cut trailer after trailer with other films. For example, Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 teaser and trailers were basically non-stop forms of spoilers until the movie was released.
Whedon revealed more about his film to MTV and what fans can expect.
"We're doing our own version of the origin story of Ultron ... We were crafting our own version of it, where [Ultron's] own origin comes more directly from The Avengers were already know about," sid Whedon about the new film to MTV.
"The other thing is in the origin story there was Hank Pim, so a lot of people assumed he was going to be in the mix, but he's not," he said. "We're basically taking the things from the comics from the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside."
