Labor Day falls on Thursday August 30, 2012 this year, and it is expected that over 33 million Americans will be traveling over the the Labor Day weekend. Before summer ends, there are a number of things that families, friends and couples can do to enjoy the holiday.
7 Fun Activities to Do Together with a Group:
1. Hold a BBQ. It is always fun to get a large group of people to grill delicious meats and vegetables. Everyone can participate by bringing a dish, and enjoying some games on the grass, or wherever you may be.
2. Go camping. If you live near the mountains, or a camping ground, bring a group to spend the night out under the summer sky. Before winter comes, camping could make a very memorable summer experience.
3. Throw a beach or lake party, volleyball net and all. When is a better time to hit the beach and set up a portable volleyball net? You can still aim to get a tan and work out those muscles, or set up an umbrella to watch your family have fun.
4. Go on a road trip. If you are up for driving hours and viewing sights never seen, there is no better time than now. Pack up some clothes for several nights, money, car, and a group of people and explore the cities around your town.
5. Attend summer concerts, carnival, festivals. Find out where the nearest festival or carnival is taking place and go bring out the child in you. You can be a kid again as you play games, eat some candy cotton, take some silly photos.
6. Sail on a boat. Research where the nearest lake, or dock is and book a ticket to ride on a boat. Whether it be a large luxurious boat or a tiny rowing boat, you will be guaranteed a memorable time. Blast some music on a private tiny boat, or take in the view on a larger boat.
7. Go Hiking. Summer is a great time to go hiking up the trails of nearby hills and mountains. You will be lucky to catch hidden waterfalls and lakes. Be sure to gear up and prepare enough food and water for some physical exercise and breathtaking view.
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
