Kelly Ripa co-host rumors today that Michael Strahan will be the permanent co-host for the 41-year-old. Since the spot has been left vacant by Regis Philbin one year ago, 59 guests have come the show. The new co-host will be officially announced on September 4th.
The latest top contenders who have been making headlines are Michael Strahan, former New York Giants defensive and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
Strahan appeared on Live! with Kelly several times leaving a good impression. He is a TV personality in his own right and currently hosts Fox's Sunday morning NFL show.
Cooper is also a positive candidate whom Ripa admittedly "worships". Ripa once told US Weekly about Cooper, "We have a connection like nobody else. I worship him!" Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos were spotted vacationing in Croatia together with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. They seem to have a close offscreen relationship which may add a boost in their onscreen chemistry.
