The Real Housewives of New Jersey has slipped in the ratings this year with demotion of cast members Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile, but now with Teresa Giudice's impending prison sentence, Bravo producers want Caroline Manzo back in the cast to revitalize the show.
"Bravo has always liked Caroline," a source told Radar Online. "They realize with Teresa gone they are going to have to do something to keep viewers intrigued, interested, and tuned in."
With Jacqueline and Kathy looking like they will be back on the show to full-time status, the network may want to add one of the originals to the fold to boost the shrinking audience.
"Bravo wants to ensure the ratings for next season are strong," the source said. "Caroline always brought Italian-Mom realness to the show, which viewers connected with. She also has a big fan base."
Even though the mother of three was ecstatic to leave the franchise, she may come back for the right price.
"Caroline always likes to keep people thinking about what her next move will be," according to Radar. "If the offer from Bravo is right, Caroline will definitely consider it."
If Caroline does come back to the show that made her famous, she'd be on two hit Bravo shows: her spinoff series, Manzo'd With Children, and RHONJ.
"Manzo'd exceeded Bravo's expectations ratings-wise and they are definitely interested in another season," the source continued.
As Mstars News reported, Bravo producers are scrambling to fill the void soon to be left by Teresa when she goes off to prison for 15 months. She will be serving her sentence at Danbury Correctional Facility in Connecticut after pleading guilty to charges of mortgage and bankruptcy fraud. The prison was the inspiration for the hit Netflix comedy Orange Is the New Black.
Do you think Caroline should come back to Real Housewives of New Jersey or just stick with her spinoff?
