Despite last year's rant heard around the world in which rapper Wale called up the COMPLEX offices when he didn't make the publication's list of Top 50 Albums of 2013 to complain ... and do a little bit of threatening ... we're happy to report that all has been forgiven. So much so that the famed Grammy nominee is now featured on their cover alongside the man who made him make the call in the first place after hearing the likes of Ariana Grande, Jay Z and Juicy J made the list –– comedian Jerry Seinfeld!
As perhaps the oddest pairing in history, Seinfeld and Wale can be seen in a new video from COMPLEX posted on the publication's Facebook page that show's them discussing the rapper's lack of placement on the Top 50 Albums of 2013 list... 10 minutes before the infamous phone call. In hearing the unfortunate news, Seinfeld – who seems to be returning to the favorite 90s character in Seinfeld – urges the musician to get mad and make a call to the "top of Complex!"
The below video kicks off by briefly detailing what went down last December:
"In December 2013, rapper Wale called the offices of COMPLEX to dispute his exclusion from their list of the year's 50 best albums. The call has become the stuff of Internet legend."
Give a listen to Wale's rant below:
After hearing the audio – which we forgot was SO intense, telling the mag to "get the security ready" – the video only makes it better, showing Seinfeld and Wale's conversation 10 minutes prior to him making the call last year.
As mentioned, the two also teamed up for the cover of the newest issue of COMPLEX. Check it out below:
Seinfeld is currently airing the 5th season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Wale is working on his 4th studio album, The Album About Nothing, dropping later this year.
