'Hunger Games' Star Willow Shields Reveals Jennifer Lawrence Is Her Role Model And That She Is Obsessed With Lorde

The Hunger Games star Willow Shields reveals Jennifer Lawrence is her role model and opens up about her obsession with Lorde. Shields plays Primrose Everdeen, Lawrence's on-screen little sister in the series, and off-screen they are very good friends.

In preparation for the latest installment of the films, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, the 14-year-old star is sharing what her favorite onscreen dynamic is. "Honestly, that's my favorite part about this character, is the relationship between her and Katniss. Because throughout this whole series, it's the only true, genuine love relationship," Shields told Cosmopolitan. "Other relationships you're not certain of throughout, and Katniss isn't either, but she is always certain of her love for Prim."

Willow began her role as Prim when she was only 11 years old, and throughout the films she has grown close to the franchise's lead actress Jennifer Lawrence, who is like a big sister to her. "Yeah, definitely! As I've gotten older though, she's become more of a really great friend to me; a great friend and a mentor. Growing up alongside her has been really fun," she explained to the publication.

In addition to their friendship in her personal life, Shields looks up to Lawrence when it comes to her career as well. "I think that's the sort of career any actress would want. She's extremely talented, she's won an Oscar now, nominated three times. I think that she is following in the footsteps of Meryl Streep. In my opinion, she'll be winning Oscar after Oscar after Oscar after Oscar, because she's that talented," the The Wonder star explained.

"And she's one of my best friends and I am so happy for her success," she added. "She started in the business when she was my age, so she's given me some advice about the business and growing up involved in film and TV and Hollywood. It's a crazy place; you gotta stay who you are through that whole process. So she's a pretty great role model to have."

During her Cosmo interview, Shields also revealed that she is completely obsessed with Lorde. "I'm obsessed with Lorde! I'm just obsessed with Lorde. And I've been obsessed with Lorde for a long time, so for me, that was extremely exciting. I mean, the fact that she is curating this soundtrack is incredible," Shields admitted when talking about Mockingjay's soundtrack.

"I was excited when I found out she was doing a song, I was like, 'Oh, my god, this is awesome!' And then I was like, 'Oh, crap, you're curating the soundtrack! This is crazy!' So, yeah, I was very excited about that. I love her music."
