The weekly podcast, Serial, from This American Life has become the biggest thing since ... well, This American Life. People are pretty excited about each episode released on the podcast's website, telling the story of convicted murdered Adnan Syed and the background of his conviction back in 1999. Just this week, his family members Rahman Syed and Yusuf Syed, his mother and younger brother, sat down with CBS This Morning for their first interview since that fateful year.
Released every Thursday, Serial is easily the most trending pdocast as of right now, taking us all back to 1999 when Adnan allegedly murdered his ex-girlfriend and then was convicted during a murder trail. We look back at the reported events, the trial and Adnan's life, reexamining the trial to get a better idea of whether or not he actually did the deed.
While you tune in each week to find out more about the story, so does Adnan's family.
"I wake up as soon as they put it on," Adnan's younger brother Yusuf said during the interview, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "And then I will listen to it. It's different, some days I will be like, oh this is a really great episode and some days I'll feel so down and depressed."
We can only imagine how Adnan's family feels with each episode, because opinions change as the story progresses. Check out this video segment of the interview for more information from Adnan's family:
