Penelope Cruz Joins 'Zoolander 2' Cast - Plot Details And More Spoilers

It looks like the highly anticipated sequel to Zoolander, simply known as Zoolander 2 for now, just added a pretty big name to the cast list: Penelope Cruz. We're not sure what role the beauty will take on, but we're sure she'll fit into the modeling world quite well! Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Will Farrell are also starring, reprising their original roles, with Justin Theroux writing the script.

According to Deadline, Cruz has singed on to join the Stiller-directed comedy, but more details have yet to be revealed.

A synopsis of the film comes from a 2011 quote from Ben Stiller.

"It's ten years later and most of it is set in Europe... it's basically Derek and Hansel... though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime," he said, according to Slash Film. "Their lives have changed and they're not really relevant anymore. It's a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he's expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way."

Theroux also revealed some script details earlier this year.

"Yeah, we've got a script for the sequel, and we've just been in talks again," he told Vulture. "We're trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don't want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running,"
