Get ready to tear up. After six films and 14 years, our journey in Middle Earth is coming to end, and now you watch the brand new spine-tingling video of Middle Earth's final farewell from Pippin (Billy Boyd) delivered in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies song "Last Goodbye".

Littered with emotional scenes from the six movies - which began with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring back in 2001, and featured Boyd as the hobbit Pippin - including seemingly exclusive images from the upcoming film, "Last Goodbye" us a tear-jerking reminder of what we as audiences will be leaving once the final credits of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies concludes.

In an exclusive premiere and interview Entertainment Weekly report that Boyd worked with director Peter Jackson, as well as the film's screenwriters Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh to nail the exact feeling behind the song.

Said Billy in the interview with EW.com "After seeing the film, I went to my room and I started to put down some ideas, and along with Fran and Philippa, we started to sculpt the song we thought the movie needed," he says. "A lot of ideas took us to dead ends or we found the tone wasn't just right."

"We discovered very quickly this wasn't just a song to end The Battle of the Five Armies-it was a song to say goodbye to Middle-earth."

Scottish actor Boyd sings in a band called Beecake and puts in a stirring performance across the song, delivering the nuance, wistful sadness and reflection that Jackson's films have had imbued in them. He recorded the song, says EW, in New Zealand with Abbey Road's Peter Cobbin and Kirsty Whalley, who were working on the film's sound in Wellington.

Boyd called the experience of being able to put a final stamp on everybody's time in Middle Earth "truly a great, great honor."

In a special 'Farewell to Middle Earth' issue of Empire guest-edited by Jackson and out Nov. 27, the director said "Coming to the end of such an unexpected, unforgettable journey fills me with a mixture of pride, relief, sadness, fun and satisfaction. Middle-earth is such a fascinating, rich world to explore and one that never leaves you, even if you leave it."
