'Sunset Overdrive' Free To Play, Xbox One Anniversary Special For Live Gold Subscribers This Weekend!

Microsoft celebrates the one-year anniversary of its Next-Gen console, the Xbox One, this weekend, and that's pretty great news for gamers that are into free games! According to new reports and an announcement from Xbox, subscribers to Xbox Live Gold will have 24 hours of free Sunset Overdrive gameplay! Easily one of the biggest titles of 2014, starting at 12:01 EST on Nov. 22, sign in and play as long as you can!

According to reports from IGN and The Verge, the entire game will be free to play in this time period and any progress you make will continue on into your own gameplay, if you choose to purchase the game afterwards! This is a pretty great way to try out a bigger title and then make the decision to buy it.

Do you need more convincing?

"For a lot of things on this project, [we] were like, 'That doesn't sound right,' but put it in and we'll see," Sunset Overdrive lead designer Cameron Christian said in the official announcement on Xbox Live's website. "Velocity was where it was at. It was, 'How do we make things really fast in this game?'"
