Blake Lively's Husband Ryan Reynolds Cannot Wait To Be A Father And Talks About Diaper Duty

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their first child together, and the father-to-be can't wait. The 38-year-old actor is opening up about his future as a father and reveals he's ready for diaper duty.

"I don't have a weak stomach," Ryan told People at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Benefit in New York. "I'm good with diapers and diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I've done it all before."

The Croods actor is most excited to have a new boy or girl running around the house.

"I'm just excited about having a buddy. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away," he explained.

Earlier this month, the happy couple, who wed in September 2012 in South Carolina, revealed that they were going to keep the sex of their baby a secret — even from themselves.

"Blake and Ryan aren't finding out what they're having," a source told Us Weekly. "They want to be surprised!"

Ryan knows that once the baby arrives there'll be a lot of new challenges, but until then he's just happy that he's going to be a father.

"For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don't want to make. I'm at that stage still where I'm focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error," Ryan revealed to People.

His wife has complete faith in him and his ability to be a good father, since he has been taking such great care of her during the pregnancy.

"He's always good to me," Blake told Us Weekly in October. "That's like a jerky thing to say because you want to be able to complain about your husband and be that person, but he takes pretty good care of me."
