Did Trina really turn down the opportunity to participate in the production of Love and Hip Hop Miami? In a new interview the rapper apparently admits to wanting no part of the VH1 reality show franchise, or any reality show that's filled with drama.
“I like it, but I have limits with that,” Trina said in a new interview with VLAD TV about reality TV. “It’s entertaining, for the most part, but I think there is so much more that you can offer on television than boobs flying out, shoes throwing, hair pulling, drinks in the face.”
Trina reveals that she was asked about being apart of the Miami spinoff of the Love and Hip Hop franchise, but she said she would like to do a different kind of show. "I'm more on a Sex and the City type vibe with it," she explained. "Me and my girlfriends we talk about real life stuff."
Love and Hip Hop has become one of the most successful infamous reality shows on television, but Trina, it seems, will pass on being involved.
“People obviously like the entertainment of it. It’s nothing for me to do. I’m not going to feel like I’ve worked this hard to come this far to go back there,” the rapper said.
Trina claims that she would participate in a reality show, but she would have to do it her way.
“You need to be in control of it to do that. That’s definitely one of my issues,” Trina explained.
“Definitely there needs to be stipulations in how far you could go,” Trina adds. “I don’t think you should be allowed to put hands on anybody else, throw drinks, hit, pull weaves, snatch out implants and throw shoes and do all this stuff. We work too hard for that. How you wearing a pair of $2,000 shoes and you’re throwing them to hit somebody in the face?”
Trina also explained that she currently has some TV work in the mix.
“I’m in talks…The thing about it is, we’re discussing what I want to do in the show,” Trina reveals. “What you put out there is what you put out there and there’s no coming back from that.”
