Claire Holt Opens Up About Her Return To 'The Originals' And Reveals Which Of Her Onscreen Brothers Should Date Hayley

This week's episode of The Originals marked the return of Rebekah Mikaelson played by Claire Holt. Now the actress is opening up about her character's presence in New Orleans and which one of her brother's she thinks should date Hayley (played by Phoebe Tonkin).

Since we last saw Rebekah, she has become a mother, taking care of her brother Klaus (played by Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's baby Hope. But what has she been doing while she was in hiding?

"She has just gone into full mother-mode. She's nurturing and raising this baby as if it were her own and just loving it, and it's just really made her realize, if she didn't already know, how much she craved having a child of her own," Holt told Entertainment Tonight. "She's really fiercely protective and wants to ensure the safety of this baby. It's really a nice thing to see and it's a really beautiful character trait of hers, I think."

Rebekah will be back for more than one episode and the main focus will be to join with her brothers and make sure that Hope has the best protection possible. "The weapon they had was thinking Hope had died so really it's paramount that they keep that story going and they work together and they really try and find a way [to keep it up]," Holt told Zap2It.

"It's tough to hide such a huge secret. It's one of the very few times they find a solution — which I won't tell you what it is — that they all feel is in the best interest of the family."

As for which of Rebekah's two brothers (between Klaus and Elijah played by Daniel Gillies) should end up with Hayley, Claire had an interesting outlook on the situation. "You know what, I think if I answer that I am going to get some hate. I don't know! You can't step on your brother's turf," she explained to the Entertainment Tonight.

"I think despite the fact that Elijah has proven himself to be loyal, loving and probably the better of the two Mikaelson brothers, he's really going for it with his love for this girl. I don't know, I'm going to plead the fifth."
