Katy Perry and John Mayer Split: Rocker Sports New Short Hairdo

The short-lived summer 'fireworks' between singers Katy Perry and John Mayer seem to have fizzled, and along with a fresh romantic start the "Daughters" crooner was spotted with a fresh and short new haircut.

Mayer's do' - usually long, shaggy, unkempt, and partially covered with some sort of fedora hat - is now short, trimmed, and reminiscent of his "Your Body is a Wonderland" days.

Check out recent photos snapped of Mayer at the Skybar at the Mondrain in L.A., where he stopped by in support of comedian and "The Office" star Mindy Kaling's new show, The Mindy Project. The acoustic singer/songwriter got the cut by Sally Hershberger at her salon in L.A. on Friday. Mayer hasn't sported a short mane since 2010.

Looks like Mayer is ready to get right back in the game following the fizzling out of his recent fling with Perry (although the relationship was never made "official"). Rumors have it that the "Wide Awake" singer hasn't taken the split so lightly. According to People, one observer claims that Mayer was spotted out at the Soho House in West Hollywood, sipping on a drink and "flirting and talking" with two women.
