Though you've probably been checking up on a bunch of Black Friday deals today, we have another kind of deal to tell you about involving the recent indefinite suspension of Ray Rice. Just today, the former Baltimore Ravens running back had his suspension from the NFL lifted after winning an appeal in court from U.S. District Judge Barbara S. Jones. His team and the league had suspended Rice earlier this year after video footage surfaced of the star beating his then-fiancé, now-wife Janay Palmer unconscious in an elevator argument.
This news broke when NFL Insider for Yahoo! Sports contributor Rand Getlin took to Twitter to announce the news. Check out his tweet here:

According to reports, Rice argued that he was being punished twice by the NFL for the same incident, claiming commissioner Roger Goodell had possession of the surveillance footage around the time that it happened. Also, the general manager of the Ravens, Ozzie Newsome, during the appeal hearing earlier this month said that Rice admitted to hitting Palmer while Goodell and the NFL stated that that was not the case. According to ESPN the judge concluded that Rice never lied to the BFL and was open about his crime, therefore the former Raven won the appeal. An NFL spokesperson responded to the news, according to ESPN, saying, "We, of course, accept the ruling as binding." Now we just have to see if any teams want to sign the reinstated player. Let us know what you think of the news in the comments section below, and check out some Twitter reactions here:
Which team is dumb enough to sign ray Rice now? — Parker Wiese (@Parkss66) November 28, 2014
It's unfortunate... but there is no doubt Ray Rice is going to sign with a team THIS year. Lots of NFL playoff contenders could use a RB. — Nikko Tan (@TheNikkoTan) November 28, 2014
So Ray Rice did not just make a mistake. He hit his wife. That is assault and it is a crime. Don't defend him to me. — Meg (@sassylibrarian1) November 28, 2014
