Meanwhile, the Hornets currently hold the No. 24 spot (out of 30 total teams), with only four wins and twelve losses. According to Stein:

It was agony at every turn last week, starting with a 27-point home loss to Dallas and lowlighted by a 23-point blown lead to visiting Orlando on top of the road heartbreakers at Indy and Miami."

Good defense is predicated on trust. If the Nets don't develop more of that in the weeks and months to come, they'll have a tough time hanging around the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference.
