The Snow Queen's spell is about to take the world of Storybrooke by storm, so sit down and grab something to hold on to because you are in for one heck of a ride. This week's all-new episode of Once Upon a Time, titled "Fall," was an emotional roller coaster full of spellbinding twists and turns. The whole episode was so action packed that even the little plotlines were still major moments. For one, we had Elsa and Anna coming the closest to a reunion that they have ever been, the spell of shattered sight about to make landfall, and all of Rumple's shady behavior making somewhat perfect sense.
During the first few minutes of the episode, viewers could see that Rumple was up to no good as he was planning on leaving town before the spell infected the inhabitants of Storybrooke. He wanted to collect the final pieces of his magic hat in order to transport himself, Belle, and Henry away from the curse. However, if he is going to be successful in his endeavor is yet to be seen, as he enlists Hook to help him with some of the dirty work.
As the townsfolk's of Storybrooke learned that the spell of shattered sight would make landfall within the next couple of hours, they tried their best to come up with a plan to leave. They made it to the ice wall that has surrounded the town for much of the season and devised a plan for David to climb it. However, it didn't seem like The Snow Queen wanted anyone getting out of town as new icicles formed when others get destroyed.
While they were finding that this plan might not have been such a good idea, Elsa did find something that would be helpful at the wall site. Hidden beneath the snow, she found Anna's snowflake necklace that Elsa gave her as a wedding present.
With this in their possession, Elsa and Emma sought out Belle in hopes that she could put an enchantment on it to locate the lost princess. Once Belle took a look at the necklace, she realized that should they find Anna because she would be able to use hair as sort of a vaccine from the spell since she was under it once and overcame it.
In a flashback, viewers see Anna and Kristoff become unfrozen in Arendelle, 30 years after Ingrid initial froze them. However, our reunion with the royal couple is cut short as Hans makes his reappearance and tries to capture Anna and Kristoff in a new plan to take over the throne.
They outsmart him and escape looking for a way that they can be reunited with the urn and with Elsa. They end up seeking out the pirate Blackbeard in hopes that he will know how to find the mystical wishing star so that it can grant them a wish to be reunited with Elsa.
When their plan is foiled once again by Hans it seems that Anna and Kristoff have reached their end. The evil Prince of the Southern Isles is working with Blackbeard and the two end up capturing the couple, throwing the two in a chest, and tossing them overboard of The Jolly Roger in hopes of drowning them.
In Storybrooke, Anna's necklace, now enchanted with a locator spell, leads Elsa and Emma into the mines beneath the town, but when the light shines the brightest at a collapsed wall, Elsa and Emma almost give up hope that they will ever find Anna. However, when Elsa blasts through the wall and finds herself on a beach completely alone with just Emma, she realizes that she might have come to a real dead end.
While these two search for Anna, the fairies are still hard at work trying to find a way to stop the spell from taking effect. However, they are soon thwarted when Hook, who is being controlled by Rumple, sucks them all into the magic hat, the one that Rumple hopes to use to separate himself from the dagger once and for all.
As the light goes out on Anna's necklace, Elsa truly thinks that she has lost her sister for good. In desperate hope, she wishes that she could be reunited with her sister again, not realizing that Anna's necklace is actually the mystical wishing star that Anna and Kristoff were looking for.
Once the wish leaves Elsa's lips, the royal couple, still locked in the chest, washes up on the shores of Storybrooke and the Arendelle trio, finally together again, embrace in the most heartwarming reunion fans have seen all season.
After the reunion, they rush Anna to the fairies in hopes that they can create the antidote so that the town can be saved from the spell, but when the come up the diner, where they were working on the potion, the fairies are nowhere to be found.
Realizing now that the spell will come whether they are ready or not, the townspeople take all necessary precautions. David & Mary Margaret lock themselves in the town's jail. Kristoff handcuffs himself to a desk in the sheriff's station. Regina locks and seals Henry in her office, and then seals herself alone in her vault.
The townspeople prepare for the worst, which will be seen in next week's episode, all-new episode, "Shattered Sight."
