Tonight is the fifth annual CMA Country Christmas special and we are sharing exactly who will be performing and what songs to look forward to. From Little Big Town to Steven Tyler, some of music's biggest stars are teaming up for the holiday special.
The CMA Country Christmas airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC so grab some hot chocolate and your favorite country music fan and get ready to enjoy the show. Here's who you can expect to be singing the night away. For starters, Jennifer Nettles will be hosting the event, which was taped on November 7 in Nashville, will be singing throughout the night.
In addition to Nettles, there will be a lot of women performing on tonight's show including Carrie Underwood (who hosted the CMA Awards this year) and Sara Evans.
"Males may dominate the country charts, but it takes women to make a true Country Christmas. Of the 20 songs performed, women are the featured artists on 11," People reported. Underwood will be performing a duet with Michael W. Smith to "All Is Well," while Sara Evans will be singing "Go Tell It on the Mountain."
Other fantastic female performances include LeAnn Rimes singing "Carol of the Bells" and a killer duet with Frozen star Idina Menzel and Nettles herself to the iconic song from the Disney film, "Let It Go." Idina will also perform Christmas favorites like "White Christmas" and "Do You Hear What I Hear?" the publication revealed.
In addition to Christmas classics, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale will debut her new Christmas single called "Mistletoe." Other notable performances to keep an eye out for are Steven Tyler's duet with Brad Paisley for "Run, Run, Rudolf," and Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman's songs.
The CMA Country Christmas special is one of many country music-based shows on TV this season. The CMT Artists of the Year will air on December 2 on CMT, A Very Grammy Christmas (which will include country star Tim McGraw) will air on December 5 on CBS and American Country Countdown Awards on December 15 on FOX.
