Season 3 of the CW's Arrow is in full swing, and the much-anticipated crossover with The Flash airs this week! The Flash installment, "Flash vs. Arrow," will air Tuesday night, and the Arrow episode, "The Brave and The Bold," airs Wednesday. In a new interview, the cast previews what to expect from Part 2 of the crossover.
In The Flash hour, a villain called the Rainbow Raider will use his powers to bring out the worst in Barry, which puts him on a collision course with Oliver. But Grant Gustin told TVLine that "the tension doesn't really carry over" into the Arrow hour; however, he believes this conflict could arise again "down the road...because some things are said that were clearly real things. For now - guys kind of move past stuff like that. But who knows?"
In the Arrow episode, the two heroes will unite to stop Captain Boomerang, who appeared briefly a few episodes ago. He's one of the Flash's villains, but executive producer Marc Guggenheim likes that the shows are dealing with him on Arrow. "It makes a lot of sense because he's not a metahuman character even though he fights The Flash," he says. "Having one of the Flash's only non-metahuman villains appear on Arrow first, it's pretty cool."
And of course, there's the oft-teased major Arrow moment that occurs on The Flash portion of the crossover. TVLine reports fans will become aware of the information before Oliver does, which means the effects of the news will come at another time. "Obviously, the ripples will really hit when Oliver learns what the audience learns," Guggenheim said.
"It's not the type of thing that we're going to tease and then not deliver on," star Stephen Amell added.
